One of the most common questions we get is: how long will the renovation actually take?
Estimated Timeframe at Quoting Stage
When we give you a quote for your kitchen, bathroom, or other home renovation, we’ll include an estimated timeframe. This is based on the scope of work, and the project’s complexity. It’s a ballpark figure to give you an idea, not set in stone yet.
Firming Up the Timeframe
Once the quote is accepted and you’ve selected your fixtures, fittings, and finishes, we’ll move into scheduling. At this point, we’re waiting on confirmed lead times from suppliers. Once we know when everything is arriving, we’ll lock in the subcontractors and provide you with a proper schedule, including a start and finish date.
What You’ll Get From Us
- A ‘Next Steps’ list so you know what decisions need to be made
- A full build schedule with key dates
- Clear communication from our team throughout the process
Keeping Things on Track
We’ll keep in touch throughout your project. If anything changes (for example, if a supplier causes delays), we’ll contact you immediately and make the necessary adjustments. We’re not into radio silence – we know how frustrating that is.
Typical Timeframes
Every project is different, but just to give you a rough guide:
- Small bathroom renovation: 2 – 4 weeks
- Standard kitchen renovation: 3 – 6 weeks
- Full home renovation: 2 – 6 months (depending on scale)
If your renovation is in Christchurch, we’re well-connected with reliable suppliers and trades who help us stay on schedule. We also have systems in place to reduce downtime between stages.
Still Have Questions?
If you’re unsure about your renovation timeframe, please don’t hesitate to ask. We’re happy to discuss it with you and provide a realistic sense of how it’s likely to proceed, based on our experience with similar homes in your area.
