About Us
A Rich History
RC Jamieson Builders was originally founded in Christchurch in 1939, as R.C. Jamieson Calder Limited. In 1947, the name was changed to R.C. Jamieson Builders Limited. Unfortunately, Mr Jamieson died on a ship voyage to England not long after. His sister took over the business, and ran it until 1975.
In 1975, Mike Chapman, who had started with the firm as an apprentice, bought the business, and the name was changed to what it is now – R C Jamieson Builders (1975) Limited. Michael Chapman later took on his son, Nigel Chapman, who has run the business since 2000, with his wife Jacqui.
Nigel has over 30 years’ experience in the building industry, is a Licensed Building Practitioner, and a member of the Registered Master Builders Association. Jacqui joined him in 2012 (after saying that they could never work together), taking over the role of managing the office.
Our Team
Craig, who started with us in the early 2000s, is known for his meticulous attention to detail and exceptional craftsmanship. He specialises in kitchen joinery installations, bathroom alterations and tackling complex, custom projects with ease. He can dismantle and rebuild a joinery unit without you ever knowing that he was there.
Tim is following in his Pop’s footsteps and began his building apprenticeship with RC Jamieson Builders at the beginning of 2024. He brings a genuine enthusiasm for learning and is rapidly developing his skills, demonstrating a natural talent for building.
John is new to our team.
Supporting us all is Robyn. She keeps all our paperwork in order and ensures everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. When you call us, chances are Robyn will be the friendly person you speak to first, ready to assist or connect you to the right person.

We can usually start a renovation within a week or two of quote approval, depending on materials, scope, trades needed, and the weather.
